What are Character Traits?
Character is not something that you are born with but it is something that you can form, cultivate and even change when necessary.
How you build your character traits depends on the responses and choices you make as you handle what is dealt to you in life.
They are the way you choose to live your life. They set you apart from others, they are the essential of who you really are, they are your being.
Jim Rohn wrote a list of 12 Characters that he lived by:
- Integrity and Honesty
- Good Health
- Living Well at the Top
If I personally had to pick three, these would be the ones:
Integrity: Being a person of your word. Taking responsibility for your actions. Do not use empty excuses or blame others, but communicate honestly if your commitments can not be completed.
Patience: Having patience toward yourself and others. Remember you are always building your character, so be forgiving and non judgmental of mistakes, you or others may make.
Humor: It is important not to take yourself too seriously. You must be willing to laugh at yourself, enjoy life and laugh with others. Humor and laughter are essential to your wellness and a well rounded, happy and fruitful life.
