Sunday Smoothies for Everyday Wake-up Smoothie is a great way to start your day or any time a pick me up is needed! This is a great basic smoothie to start and experiment with. As with all smoothie recipes, a little chia seeds, flaxseeds, and/or wheat germ mixture can always be incorporated in your smoothie. |
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup(s) orange juice, preferably calcium-fortified
1 banana
1 1/4 cup(s) frozen berries, such as raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and/or strawberries
1/2 cup(s) low-fat silken tofu or low-fat plain yogurt. I prefer the vanilla Greek yogurt.
1 tablespoon of honey or other sweetener (Optional)
Combine in a blender the orange juice, banana, berries, tofu (or yogurt) and sweetener.
Blend until creamy.
Makes 3 servings.
I welcome any questions, sharing or comments you may have.
