Tidbits Writing Lately I have been wearing my writing hat a little every day. Grant you sometimes it seems the hat comes off as soon as I put it on. My book writing has been a very slow process. You can probably blame my lack of motivation to short attention spans and very little concentration mixed in with a little fear or even boredom. |
I do enjoy writing, but I came to the conclusion that maybe the subject matter of this particular book I’m writing now is a little too intense, too long and too one subject. I seem to enjoy writing shorter versions such as the blogs for my 2 sites, this one and Tidbits Books.
Tidbits, which should explain how my mind works and why at this time I should probably not be trying to write a full length book when my mind is not totally wrapped around it yet.
So I’m thinking of going back to the drawing board and maybe concentrating on one of my many ideas for short stories and temporarily setting aside this first book writing adventure.
I recently acquired Scrivener, a writing tool that I'm still learning but really enjoy using. It keeps all my book ideas organized and easily available for me to look at. It also makes it super easy to make a book outline and have all the different chapters and book notes quickly accessible with just one click.
This really is a great writing tool and as strange as it may sound to some, I feel more motivated to write when I use Scrivener. (Available for Mac or PC)
I also joined 3 Facebook Author Groups:
Authority Self Publishing
Pat's First Kindle Book
Brian Jackson
These are 3 great groups, with informative discussions, publishing tips and resources.
It is very motivating to read how new authors write and publish their books and the writing adventures they have to travel.
So here goes, wish me luck!
I welcome any questions, sharing or comments you may have.
