Following the right road and
moving on with positive changes
moving on with positive changes
Life Change Hat The Wizard of Oz has always been one of my favorite movies. The main characters of this story choose to follow the road needed to find what they are truly looking for, what they feel they are missing to complete their lives so they can find their own true individual happiness. |
As A Wearer of Many Hats, I often spread myself a little thin and take on more than I can comfortably do.
First it was the websites, for a while I juggled seven of them. Even though I totally enjoyed the process of building them by using my artistic hat, finding constant good content to post and the time needed to do it was a different challenge.
So slowly I started concentrating less and less on some of the sites and even closed some down, but in the process I also discovered that I enjoyed writing more and more about what I knew. It was then suggested that I write a book.
Two years ago I started on that road. I wrote my first draft then it sat on a shelf for over 6 months. Like most new writers I was unsure of myself, I doubted my writing and my knowledge of publishing was almost none existing, plus I was using my favorite excuse "I'm busy with work and daily life stuff. NO TIME to write!" I knew deep down that these were my own insecurities rearing their ugly little heads.
I started reading articles and books about new non fiction writers and how they dealt with their challenges, I took a few Udemy writing courses and even joined a couple of beginners writing groups on Facebook.
Pat's First Kindle Book (From Start to Finish)
Author Brian Jackson Student Support Group - Brian also offers a few Udemy Courses and his newest one is "Amazon Self Publishing 2018."
These sources as well as others have helped me find the right mindset and the right way for me to use and incorporate the free time that I do have to start on my road to writing.
My first book is now finally finished, I even did a cover for it through Canva. My formatting to Kindle Publishing is not quite done yet, I'm still kind of learning, so my intention is to possibly hire someone to do the formatting for this first book.
My goal is to have "AGES AND STAGES" published on Amazon by no later than August 22.
Please keep me accountable!
Writing for me is serene and peaceful, it's like my own little Zen place. I try to write a little every day even if it's only for a few minutes at a time. Writing has been a hidden passion since I was a child, one I never took time to really take on but as they say "Better late than never."
I've recently started working on a second book :-)

Here are some of the books that have inspired and helped me with my writing:
