Writing Hat
Pretty much everyone has a comfort zone and stepping out of this zone can be challenging and even stressful at times. I definitely stepped out of my own comfort zone recently by publishing my first book on Amazon, "Ages and Stages". Each step of the publishing process was actually a small step outside of my comfort zone. I guess one can say that they were gradual baby steps, one step at a time that came to their destination as a finished published book. |
From the time I was a child I wanted to write a book always having so many ideas and titles running through my head.
Being that grammar was not one of my strong subjects in school, math and art were more my speed. That said, for years I lacked the confidence to write anything. I know that the many books I've read and the blogs I've written through the years have helped built my English skills and my confidence to become an author.

About three years ago, I finally decided to try my hand at writing. The idea for this book actually came from my adult children, as they wanted me to express what I had learned through my many decades so "Ages and Stages" was born. The more I wrote the less I felt outside of my comfort zone. Of course publishing a book is more than writing it. There is editing, proofreading, formatting, the book cover, the actual publishing and finally the marketing, leaving more zones to be conquered. I managed to overcome most of these publishing zones by reading, learning, applying and reaching out to others for help. Please check back later, as I plan on doing a few follow up blogs on the different steps I took to finally publish my book on Amazon. | If you have a chance to read Ages and Stages, a review would be much appreciated. |
Each zone that we tackle and conquer in life can become our new comfort zone, as it is no longer a mystery, a challenge or even a scary door to walk through.
