Sunday Smoothies for Everyday Blueberry and Green Tea Smoothie, a great breakfast drink! Bonus! Green tea and blueberries abound in antioxidants to protect your cells from free radicals. Almonds provide natural protein and healthy monounsaturated fats, while flaxseed adds inflammation-fighting omega-3 fats to any smoothie. |
Ingredients: 1/4 - cup water 2 - green tea bags 2 - cups fresh or frozen blueberries 3 - ice cubes (optional) 12oz - fat free vanilla yogurt 2 tbsp. - whole dry-roasted, unsalted almonds (about 20) 2tbsp. - ground flaxseed |
Bring water to boil and pour over tea bags. Steep 4 minutes, remove tea bags and chill tea overnight if possible.
You may also want to freeze fresh blueberries overnight.
Place tea, blueberries, ice, yogurt, almonds and flaxseed in blender.
Process until smooth
Makes 2 servings: Share or save one serving for tomorrow's breakfast!
